1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the website moosepainting.ca or engaging Moose Painting Ltd (“Moose Painting”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) for residential or commercial painting services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any portion of these terms, please do not use our website or services.

2. Scope of Painting Services

Moose Painting Ltd provides professional surface preparation and application of paints, stains, and protective coatings for:

• Interior house painting (drywall, ceilings, walls, accent walls).
• Exterior house painting (stucco, siding, facia, soffits, and trim).
• Kitchen cabinet refinishing and enamel coating.
• Interior and exterior doors, millwork, casing, and baseboards.
• Commercial, retail, and multi-unit rental property turnarounds.

Each project is governed by a detailed written project proposal outlining specific surface areas, coats, finish sheens, and materials agreed upon prior to project commencement.

3. Estimates, Quotations & Change Orders

• Free Estimates: Preliminary estimates provided through website submissions are approximate guides based on information provided. Official binding quotes require an in-person or verified architectural assessment.
• Validity: Written project quotations are valid for thirty (30) calendar days from issuance date unless otherwise stated in writing.
• Unforeseen Conditions & Change Orders: If hidden damage (e.g., rotted substrate, moisture intrusion, extensive drywall crumbling, or lead paint requiring abatement) is discovered during preparation, work on that affected area will pause and a written Change Order will be issued for client approval before proceeding.

4. Client Responsibilities & Site Access

To ensure optimal workmanship and timely completion, the client agrees to:

• Provide reasonable access to the work area during agreed operational hours.
• Ensure reliable access to working electricity and running water on site for cleaning tools and equipment.
• Remove fragile, valuable, or sentimental items and clear small clutter from rooms or exterior work perimeters before work begins. Heavy furniture moving can be arranged in advance as part of the estimate.
• Keep pets and minor children away from active work zones, equipment, wet paint, and ladder staging areas.

5. Weather & Environmental Conditions (Exterior Projects)

Exterior painting in Vernon and the North Okanagan is strictly subject to ambient weather conditions, including rain, morning frost, and extreme summer surface heat exceeding paint manufacturer application specifications. Moose Painting Ltd reserves the right to postpone exterior painting days to prevent improper coating adhesion, film failure, or finish defects.

6. Payment Terms & Invoicing

• Depending on project size, a materials deposit may be required before booking or purchasing custom-tinted finishes.
• The balance of the project invoice is due upon completion and mutual walkthrough inspection.
• Accepted payment methods include Interac e-Transfer, company cheque, and electronic bank transfer.

7. Workmanship & Satisfaction Guarantee

Moose Painting Ltd stands firmly behind the quality of our craftsmanship. Upon completion, a thorough walkthrough inspection is conducted with the client to address any touch-ups. We guarantee our paint application against blistering, peeling, or chipping resulting from defective workmanship for a period defined in your project contract, normal structural shifting and moisture intrusion excepted.

8. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions and any agreements for painting services are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
